Alliance Meeting to be held September 22nd

Governor Bentley created by executive order the Alabama Economic Development Alliance, a group of various agencies/organizations involved in economic development activities in our state, and charged them with developing a strategic economic development plan. Meetings are being conducted around the state to receive input from citizens regarding economic development in Alabama. The session for this area will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, September 22nd at the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce office. It is open to the public and your attendance and comments are welcomed.

We were sorry this week to have learned of the passing of Elba Mayor James Grimes. His dedication to his community will long be remembered. We extend our sympathies to his family.

Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA) 

September 2, 2011

The EDPA represented by Bill Taylor, President, and Executive Vice President Steve Sewell, visited our area this week by invitation of ECGEDC. They had lunch with the ECGEDC Board of Directors and several area elected officials. Afterwards they toured Flight School XXI in Daleville where they witnessed the flight simulators used to train military personnel.  Did you know that Daleville is a community with a population of approximately 5,300 and home to more flight simulators than any other single community in the world?
